Tia & Tamera Aren’t Trying to Fit Into the Typical Reality Series Mold

tia & tamera *Being a part of the reality series world, which is typically heavy laden with drama, violence, and a totally warped presentation about black women, Tia Mowry-Hardict is actually glad her series, “Tia & Tamera,” is different than the rest.

But she isn’t surprised some shows take it to that level.

“I remember when we were pitching our show to different networks, many of them didn’t want to pick it up because they felt like we didn’t have enough conflict,” Tia told Vibe.

Viewers will not find the twins throwing blows at one another or giving up all the dirt. The network complains, but the girls know that their show is something that goes against the grain and people like that.

“My sister and I were like, ‘We aren’t those type of people.’ So, it’s all about us being positive role models. People always say it’s nice to see fresh, vibrant, funny women on television, and that’s my sister and I,” said Tia, who is a fan of “Real Housewives of Atlanta.”

Despite the minority that grumbles at the lack of dramatic scenes in the show, the new season begins June 11 on Style network.
